Walichi bhaji

Chawlichya shenga /wali bhaji

This vegetable is also called as'snake beans'/chinese long bean or cowpea.


Ingredients

1 bunch or 250gms valichya shenga(wash and cut both ends and then chop in 1/2 inch pieces)
1 potato (cut in small cubes)
1 tsp. jaggery
salt to taste
1 tsp

Tempering
2 tsp. oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp asafoetida
7-8 curry leaves
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
3-4 green chilies
1 tsp. kala masala/dhana-jeera powder


Garnishing

2-3 spoons grated coconut
coriander leaves
2 tsp.lemon juice(optional)


Method
1. Heat oil in a kadai and add all tempering ingredients
2. Add potatoes and cut vegetable.
3.Cover the kadai with plate and add  half cup water on it. Let it cook for 10 minutes.
4.Add salt to taste and jaggery. Mix well.
5. Add garnishing ingredients.


Note
You can add dhane-mirchi masala(coriander-chili powder) instead of green chili.
