kachchya kelyache kaap

starters of raw bananaThese spicy starters taste best with waraN-bhat.

Ingredients
2 raw bananas
lemon juice
chili powder
turmeric powder
salt
Rice flour


Method
  • Peel off the banana skin unevenly ( just as we peel off the skin of shevgyachya shenga i.e not fully )
  • Make pieces as shown.( approx. 10-12 pieces of medium thickness)
  • Apply lemon juice,chili powder,turmeric powder and salt evenly. Keep aside for 5-10 minutes to marinate.
  • Take rice flour in a shallow plate. Coat each piece with it from both sides.
  • Heat the griddle and arrange the pieces on it. Add oil from sides. Cover with a lid and let it cook on medium -low flame.
  • Check after 2-3 minutes. Turn the sides and no covering this time. Add few drops of oil if required.
 Note
I could not take the picture of the finished product as they all finished before I could capture the photograph. I will load it some other time I make it.
This can be a fasting (upwas) recipe if avoid using turmeric powder. ( I don't know why we can't use turmeric for upwas???)
