moogachya DaLiche foDaNiche waran

Sunday being holiday and a day for non-veg, I prefer Monday to be non-spicy and easy to cook. Normally toor DaL is used for curry preparation but moog DaL can also be a good option.

Ingredients
1/2 cup moog DaL(yellow split peas)
4-5 garlic cloves
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup buttermilk (medium)
 salt to taste

Tempering
1 tsp ghee/clarified butter
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 dry red chilies
5-6 curry leaves

Garnishing
chopped coriander leaves(optional)

Method
Pressure cook Dal with peeled garlic cloves and turmeric powder in it.
When cooked mash it with a ladle. Add buttermilk and water(if required) to adjust the desired consistency. Bring it to boil.
Add salt to taste.
Heat ghee in a PaLi. Add all the tempering ingredients and pour it in DaL. Cover immediately.
Serve with steamed brown rice and sajook toop.

Note
For change in taste sometime can add green chilies.
